Rory Jon Pearson

IMAG0034

I am now the proud owner of two beautiful sons. This follows the arrival of Rory Jon Pearson on 15th April 2010 weighing in at an ample 7lb 13oz (though a week on he has dropped to 7lb 4oz - a normal level of weight loss in a breast-feeding newborn).
I am pleased to say that, although it similarly ended in an emergency C-Section, it wasn't nearly as traumatic as big brother Zack's arrival; this time we only had ten hours or so of labour before the C-Section rather than the fifty hours we endured first time around. To compensate, Vicky somehow managed to reach a level of craziness after just four hours of labour and gas and air that took maybe forty hours to achieve with Zack.

Mummy is still recovering from being sliced nearly in half, and will be for some while I think, but otherwise both her and baby Rory are doing just fine.

All in all, Rory's addition to our family brings a most wonderful end to most heartbreaking and difficult twelve months I hope I will ever have to face. For the first time in a year I can look forward, free from fear and trepidation, to a future full of hope and joy. It's a good feeling.
