Not so tough...but a brave little soldier

A few weeks back I wrote this:
Fortunately, I can take comfort in my comparisons of Zack to his Auntie Hayley: she takes great pride in the fact that out of me and my siblings, she is the only one to have never visited Accident & Emergency. As she says:
"I am clumsy and tough in equal measure"
Here's hoping my dangerous boy has inherited that toughness too!
Well...unfortunately, with still two weeks to go until his second birthday, Zack has already blown his chances of matching Auntie Hayley's clean A&E record.

Mice Krispies

Moe the corn snake has been living with us for a week now and last night he had his first venture out from his vivarium.

From Moe
You might think I'm mad, but I'm actually quite smitten. There is something genuinely adorable about the little guy.

OK, I've probably got my work cut out convincing a lot of you he's cute. And that probably won't get any easier after you watch the video of him having his first breakfast in his new home.... here it is:

A new addition to the Pearson family

On Wednesday morning we brought home a new addition to the Pearson family.

No, not that new addition: A.C. should not be joining us until late September some time. Though whilst we are on the topic, Vicky and Zack saw the midwife today and had the excitement of hearing A.C.'s heartbeat for the first time.

We have a different new addition all together. On Tuesday afternoon, Vicky called me at work to tell me that she and Zack were at Swallows Aquatics and had both "fallen in love" with a particular Corn Snake. When they picked me up from the train station after work, I was expecting to go straight home. Instead we went straight back to the aquatics store so I could be introduced to this snake. When I tell you that Vicky and Zack had already named him, it should come as no surprise that that on Wednesday morning we went back to pick him up and bring him home.
